Privacy Policy

Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information of identifiable Members has always been a fundamental principle in our relationship with you, our Exhibitors and Suppliers. This Privacy Policy tells you how we will ensure the confidentiality and privacy of the information that you entrust us with.  Capitalized terms not otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy shall have the meanings given to them in the Terms and Conditions of the Bride Rewards Bride Rewards Program (“Bride Rewards Program”).

  1. Consent and Information Collection and Use

When you enroll in the Bride Rewards Program, we ask for personal information that will be used to activate your Member Account, provide the Bride Rewards Program and Rewards to you, communicate with you about the status of your Member Account, notify you of Bride Rewards offers and Exhibitors and for other purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Your name, address, telephone number, email address, and certain other information about you may be required by us to provide the Bride Rewards Program to you or be disclosed by you during your membership in the Bride Rewards Program. You will also be asked to create a private password, which will become part of your Member Account information.

By providing personal information to us and by enrolling in the Bride Rewards Program, you voluntarily consent to the collection, use and disclosure of such personal information as specified in this Privacy Policy. Without limiting the foregoing, we may on occasion ask you to consent when we collect, use, or disclose your personal information in specific circumstances. Sometimes your consent will be implied through your conduct with us if the purpose of the collection, use or disclosure is obvious and you voluntarily provide the information.

We may use and disclose your personal or Member Account information for the following purposes:

(a)    To administer the Bride Rewards Program, including the management of Member Accounts to accurately record and update Point balances;

(b)    To market, manage, and process Member redemptions, including the issuance of tickets, vouchers, products, services and other Rewards;

(c)    To invoice Member, Exhibitor and Supplier accounts as appropriate;

(d)    To communicate information and offers to Members, Exhibitors and Suppliers;

(e)    To promote additional products, services, special offers and other Rewards from the Bride Rewards Program and/or its Exhibitors and Suppliers;

(f)     To understand and analyze Members’ responses, needs and preferences and to develop, enhance, market and/or provide products, services and Rewards to meet those needs;

(g)    To enable Members to participate in marketing promotions and contests;

(h)    To improve the quality of the Bride Rewards Program through polls, surveys and other similar feedback gathering activities conducted by Canada’s Bridal Show and/or third parties;

(i)     To create, manage and control your Member Account information, and to verify access rights to the Bride Rewards Program and Rewards;

(j)     To bill your Member Account as required in connection with the Bride Rewards Program, including with respect to Rewards redemptions;

(k)    To assess service levels, monitor traffic patterns and gauge popularity of different features and service options of the Bride Rewards Program;

(l)     To enforce this Privacy Policy or the Terms and Conditions of the Bride Rewards Program;

(m)   To protect against fraud or error, and to respond to claims of any violation of our rights or those of any third parties;

(n)    To respond to your requests for customer service;

(o)    To protect the rights, property or personal safety of you, us, our Members, Exhibitors and Suppliers and the public; and

(p)    As required to comply with applicable laws or as authorized by applicable laws.

For the purposes of billing your Member Account as required in connection with the Bride Rewards Program, we may share your credit card and other payment information with banks or other third parties in order to process payments. In addition, while Canada’s Bridal Show has in place up-to-date technology and internal procedures to guard such payment information against unauthorized access or intruders, there is no guarantee that such technology or procedure can eliminate all of the risks of theft, loss or misuse.

Your personal or Member Account information is kept in a file, where it may be accessed for employees who have a need to know the information in order to carry out the purposes as specified above.

1. Member Lists and Aggregated Data

The Bride Rewards Program does not give, rent or sell Member lists to any organization or individual other than its Exhibitors, Suppliers and companies contracted to process and manage Member transactions, redemption requests, research, analysis and communications and in all cases, only to fulfill the specified purposes.  In addition, a Member’s specific transaction information from one Exhibitor is not disclosed to another Exhibitor.

We may also use your personal information to generate Aggregated Data for internal use and for sharing with third parties on a selective basis. “Aggregated Data” means records which have been stripped of information potentially identifying users, and which have been manipulated or combined to provide generalized, anonymous information. Your identity and personal information will be kept anonymous in Aggregated Data.

2.Promotional Communications

The Bride Rewards Program respects the privacy of Members when promoting products and services.  Members can opt out of receiving marketing and promotional communications in electronic, printed or verbal format, other than Member summaries or periodic newsletters which may include such communications, by notifying us in writing.  The decision to opt out of additional communications does not affect the Member’s ability to collect or redeem Points in the Bride Rewards Program

The websites related to the Bride Rewards Program, including www.briderewards.ca, may contain links to other sites and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of linked sites. Their privacy policies and practices may differ from our policies and practices.

4.Cookies and Log Files

When you access the websites related to the Bride Rewards Program, including www.briderewards.ca, we may use cookies and log files to track user information. Cookies are small amounts of data that are transferred to your web browser by a web server and are stored on your computer’s hard drive. We use cookies to track which page variant a visitor has seen, to track if a visitor has clicked on a page variant, to monitor traffic patterns and to gauge popularity of service options.  We will use this information to deliver relevant content and services to you.

5.Change of Ownership or Business Transition

In the event of a change of ownership or other business transition, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of our assets, your information may be transferred in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

6.Security

We will strive to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information, however, no data transmission over the Internet, by wireless device or over the air is guaranteed to be 100% secure.  We will continue to enhance security procedures as new technologies and procedures become available. We strongly recommend that you do not disclose your Member Account password to anyone. If you forget your password, we will ask you for your verification information and send you an email containing your password.  We have established retention guidelines for maximum and minimum retention periods for your personal information or Member Account information and will store the information for the time period set out in those guidelines.

Please remember that you control what personal information you provide while participating in the Bride Rewards Program. Ultimately, you are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your identification, passwords and/or any personal information in your possession for participation in the Bride Rewards Program. Always be careful and responsible regarding your personal information. We are not responsible for, and cannot control, the use by others of any information which you provide to them and you should use caution in selecting the personal information you provide to others in connection with the Bride Rewards Program. Similarly, we cannot assume any responsibility for the content of any personal information or other information which you receive from other Members or Suppliers and Exhibitors, and you release us from any and all liability in connection with the contents of any personal information or other information which you may receive from such parties or any third parties.  From time to time we may store personal information outside of Canada, where it may be subject to the lawful access requirements in the applicable jurisdiction.

7.Contacting Us About Your Privacy

This Privacy Policy may be changed from time to time at our sole discretion.  New versions of the Privacy Policy will be posted at this location.  Your continued use of this site subsequent to any changes in the Privacy Policy constitute your consent to our ongoing collection, use and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with the revised Privacy Policy.
